Holistic Trauma Therapy in Concord,NC
Inclusive online therapy for adults throughout North Carolina who are struggling with stress, identity, trauma, and abuse recovery
Have you been feeling disconnected from the world around you?
From your friends, family, coworkers, or partner?
Or even from yourself?
Do you find yourself fading into the background becoming an observer rather than an active participant?
Are you ever frozen in the middle of a conversation not sure how to respond?
Constantly wondering how you should act around certain people or different situations?
Always feeling like you are walking on eggshells?
Finding serenity in this world is truly a radical act.
You don’t have to continue living disconnected, depressed, or on constant alert. You don’t have to shrink yourself to fit into prescribed roles or belief systems forced on you by others.
You can reclaim your independence and self-worth after relational abuse. You can let go of the shame and guilt from religious trauma. You can honor your true identity apart from who society has told you to be.
I help my clients release unhealthy expectations and beliefs, reconnect with their authentic selves, and find genuine peace within themselves and their place in this world.
Meet Michelle Reinhard, LCSW
Holistic Trauma Therapist in Concord,NC
Specialities
I am passionate about supporting folks in healing from childhood trauma, religious trauma, and narcissistic abuse. Using holistic trauma therapy, my clients gain validation for their complex experiences, clarity in their path towards healing, and peace with the identity and life they courageously choose to claim.
Populations
As a queer, neurodivergent therapist, I love working with others in the LGBTQIA+ community, neurodivergent minds, non-conforming identities, those in non-monogamous or polyamorous relationships, and anyone in marginalized communities.
Values & Beliefs
My therapeutic approach is emphatically liberation-focused, anti-racist, de-colonial, and anti-oppressive. I support individuals of all identities, cultures, bodies, beliefs, and backgrounds.
What is trauma?
Trauma is the harmful effect left on the mind and body when someone experiences something that is too difficult to recover from in that time or place. This can look like anxiety, stress, depression, exhaustion, memory loss, difficulty concentrating or sitting still, appetite changes, relational challenges, or even suicidal thoughts.
We have all experienced trauma in some way. As a trauma therapist, I help you discover the root of your trauma, learn how to heal the effects of trauma, and rebuild your identity and life that feels healthy, aligned, and right for you!
What is holistic therapy?
Have you ever noticed when you feel depressed your body also becomes fatigued? Or when you haven’t eaten in a while you begin feeling anxious or moody? A holistic therapist approaches mental health from beyond just the mind. Since everything in your life affects your mental health, it is important to address all of those things. Otherwise, it’s like trying to pull a block from a Jenga tower and being surprised when it all falls down!
During our sessions, I help my clients view their mental health within the framework of everything else that touches their lives. We discuss daily routines, support systems, physical health, spirituality, culture, and yes, even politics.
Practicing therapy from a holistic approach also means addressing the root of the problem not just putting on a bandaid to better cope. Bandaids are great for small, temporary issues. But if you want to heal from deep issues like relational trauma or abuse, we will need to explore everything that was impacted in order to have genuine healing, growth, and change.

Religious Trauma Therapy
Religion can be a source of love and community. Unfortunately, it can also use coercion, guilt, and shame that leaves devastating marks on one’s innermost values and belief systems. All trauma therapy sessions are currently online and are available to all adults (18+) throughout North Carolina. When beginning trauma therapy, weekly 60-minute sessions are most effective. This helps create consistency, accountability, and the ability to best measure progress. Many clients find this helpful for the first 3-6 months. Once you feel confident in your progress, sessions are typically reduced to every other week. The timeline looks different for everyone, and we will collaborate together on ensuring your therapy is most effective for you.
-
Clients are able to schedule sessions via their own client portal. You can schedule week to week or a few weeks out. If you prefer meeting at the same day/time every week, I can block that time for you as long as you show up for your sessions. We can also discuss different scheduling options during our consultation call.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations and rescheduled sessions will be subject to a full charge if not received at least 24 hours in advance. This is necessary because a time commitment is made to you and is held exclusively for you. If you are late for a session, you may lose some of that session time. If you are able to reschedule within the same week, the late cancellation fee will be dropped.
